Rekindle the Spire - The Chosen Undead (Dark Souls)

Play Slay the Spire 2 as the Chosen Undead. Pick a Dark Souls starting class, manage your Stamina, parry what you can, and try not to go Hollow on the way to the Kiln of the First Flame.

New in 3.0

• Five acts. Every run opens in the Undead Asylum: Oscar of Astora, then the Asylum Demon. Then the Undead Burg, Anor Londo, the Lord Souls, and the Kiln.
• Dark Souls act starts replace Neow: Firelink Shrine, Kingseeker Frampt and Princess Gwynevere.
• Every "?" room is a Dark Souls encounter: orange soapstone messages, bloodstains, the Hellkite bridge, Darkstalker Kaathe, the Daughter of Chaos, the Gravelord's coffin and more.
• 10 NPC questlines that follow you from act to act: Solaire, Siegmeyer and Sieglinde, Big Hat Logan, Griggs, Patches, Rhea and Petrus, Laurentius, Lautrec and the Crestfallen Warrior. Your choices decide their fate. Leave them, help them, or watch them go hollow.
• Invasions: Maneater Mildred, Kirk, Knight of Thorns, Lautrec, Paladin Leeroy and Xanthous King Jeremiah invade, and there's no running for the fog. NPC foes and invaders drink Estus once.
• Lone chests: one in four is a Mimic.
• Blacksmiths in the shops: Andre in the Burg, the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo, Vamos with the Lord Souls.
• The Kiln of the First Flame opens only once all four Lord Souls are claimed. The Black Knights surround you (never turn your back), then Gwyn, Lord of Cinder.
• New end screens: YOU DIED, FIRE LINKED and THE AGE OF DARK.
• Tougher enemies: +15% HP (+10% more for elites and bosses) and +10% damage.

The Chosen Undead

• Stamina: refills to 3 at the start of every turn and fuels your Stamina cards.
• Parry and Riposte: reflect damage back at attackers, then punish them.
• Hollowing: power at a price. Going Hollow gives you Strength every turn as you slip away.
• Estus Flask: at half HP or lower, you drink and heal 12. Three charges, refilled at Rest Sites and every Act.

10 Starting Classes

Warrior, Knight, Wanderer, Thief, Bandit, Hunter, Sorcerer, Pyromancer, Cleric, and Deprived. Each one has its own HP, starting cards, starting relic (Solaire's Sunlight Shield, the Master Key, the Pyromancy Flame...) and its own pixel-art body in combat and at the bonfire. Deprived starts with 50 HP, a club, a plank shield, and a Darksign that does absolutely nothing. Good luck.

Cards that fit your class

Sorceries for the Sorcerer, pyromancies for the Pyromancer, miracles for the Cleric, bows for the Hunter, greatswords for the heavy hitters and quick blades for the nimble ones. Card rewards and shops only offer what your class can actually use.

18 Rings of Lordran

Havel's Ring, Ring of Favor and Protection, Ring of Sacrifice, Calamity Ring, Hornet Ring, Leo Ring, Wolf Ring, Sun Princess Ring and more.

Every Boss Reforged

Every act throws a random Dark Souls boss at you, and every elite is a Dark Souls elite. They fight the way they did in Lordran, and the Burg's boss decides your route through the rest of the run:

• The Undead Burg: Taurus Demon, Bell Gargoyles, Chaos Witch Quelaag. Elites: Capra Demon and its dogs, Moonlight Butterfly (melee can't reach it while it flies), Gaping Dragon.
• Anor Londo: Ornstein & Smough (kill one and the other rises stronger), Great Grey Wolf Sif (weakens as it bleeds), Ceaseless Discharge, Pinwheel. Elites: Stray Demon, Crossbreed Priscilla, Iron Golem.
• The Lord Souls: Gravelord Nito, Seath the Scaleless, the Four Kings, the Bed of Chaos. Elites: Centipede Demon, Dark Sun Gwyndolin, Demon Firesage.

Cut their tails, keep their weapons: hit the Bell Gargoyles, the Gaping Dragon, Priscilla or Seath hard enough and their weapon joins your deck for the rest of the run.

The Lordvessel

Each Lord Soul boss holds a Lord Soul. Claim all four across your runs to open the Kiln of the First Flame, where Gwyn, Lord of Cinder, waits. The character select screen is now the Firelink Altar, with a flame on the Lordvessel for every soul you've claimed. Your claimed Lord Souls carry over from 2.x.

Installing

1. Steam > right-click Slay the Spire 2 > Manage > Browse local files.
2. Open the mods folder (create it if it isn't there).
3. Unzip so you have mods\RekindleTheSpire\ with the seven folders inside (ChosenUndead, ChosenUndeadClasses, DarkSoulsBosses, RekindleArt, RekindleBosses, RekindleFixes, RekindleKiln). Keep them together. Updating from an older version: delete the old RekindleTheSpire folder first.
4. Start the game, say Yes to loading mods, and pick The Chosen Undead.

Also on the Steam Workshop if you'd rather subscribe. Use one or the other, not both.
Co-op: everyone in the lobby needs the mod.
Tested on Slay the Spire 2 v0.107.1.
