DESCRIPTION
Tier Lister adds a community-tier badge (SS / S / A / B / C / D) to every card and relic in card-rewards, post-combat reward rows, the merchant's shop, treasure rooms, and boss-relic selections. No more squinting at unfamiliar cards or relics. Pick at a glance. Pure cosmetic overlay. The mod never changes a card, a relic, a fight, or a save.

WHAT'S NEW IN v0.5.0
- ModConfig integration (https://www.nexusmods.com/slaythespire2/mods/27). If you have ModConfig installed, a Tier Lister section appears in the Mods tab of the in-game Settings with toggles to disable badges per source: Ironclad, Silent, Defect, Regent, Necrobinder, Colorless, and Relics. Toggle a category off to hide its badges, or back on to show them, without leaving the screen.
- ModConfig is optional. If it isn't installed the mod still works exactly as before with all categories on.

WHAT'S NEW IN v0.4.0
- Necrobinder card tier list. 83 cards ranked across S, A, B, C, D. Edit necrobinder.json in the tiers folder if you disagree with any of the rankings.
- Treasure room badge fix. The badge now sits close to the relic instead of floating high above it, and it no longer doubles in size from the treasure room's relic scale tween.

WHAT'S NEW IN v0.3.0
- Relic tier list. 150 relics ranked across shop, common, uncommon, and rare drop tiers, merged into one list. When a relic appears in multiple sources, the highest tier wins.
- Tier badges on shop relics. Each merchant relic slot gets a tier badge above it, same look as the shop card badges.
- Tier badges on post-combat relic rewards. A small round badge with the tier letter appears at the right end of the relic's row in the loot screen.
- Tier badges on boss reward and treasure room relics. The "choose a relic" screen and treasure room relic display are decorated too.
- Tier files live next to the DLL. A TierLister_tiers folder is created inside your StS2 mods/ folder on first launch, so the editable JSONs sit alongside the mod itself. The game's loader will log a cosmetic "missing id field" warning per tier file on startup. TierLister still loads correctly. Those warnings can be ignored.

WHAT'S NEW IN v0.2.0
- Bring your own tier list. On first launch the mod creates a tier folder, drops the JSON files inside, and reads from there every launch. Edit the JSON to retier, add, or remove cards.
- Simplified JSON format. Each file is just "character", "source", and a "tiers" block keyed by tier letter. Move a card name between lists to retier it.
- Startup toast. A small green banner pops up on launch confirming the mod loaded, with the count of tier lists ready. Click anywhere on it to dismiss.
- Loud error reporting. If a tier file you edited has invalid JSON, you get three signals. A red in-game banner with the broken filename and parser error. A sibling .error.txt file dropped next to the broken JSON with the same instructions. A verbose log entry. The mod falls back to the bundled default for that character so the game still works while you fix it.

INSTALLATION
1. Make sure you've enabled mods in Slay the Spire 2 (main menu, accept the modding prompt).
2. Download the latest TierLister-vX.Y.Z.zip from the Files tab.
3. Unzip it. You'll get TierLister.dll and TierLister.json.
4. Drop both files into your StS2 mods folder.
  - macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Slay the Spire 2/SlayTheSpire2.app/Contents/MacOS/mods/
  - Windows: <Steam>\steamapps\common\Slay the Spire 2\mods\
5. Launch the game. Tier Lister should appear in the in-game Mods list and a green confirmation toast will show on the main menu.

MAIN FEATURES
- Tier badge on every card-reward choice and shop card.
- Tier badge on every relic. Shows in the merchant's inventory, in post-combat reward rows, in treasure rooms, and on boss relic-selection screens.
- All six card pools covered. Ironclad, Silent, Defect, Regent, Necrobinder, and Colorless.
- 150 relics ranked across shop, common, uncommon, and rare drop sources.
- Six tiers. SS (gold), S (red), A (orange), B (yellow), C (green), D (blue). Items without a tier mapping show "?" so nothing is hidden.
- Editable tier files. Use the bundled defaults out of the box, or open the JSONs and use your own rankings. Your edits survive mod updates because the mod only writes a default if the file isn't already there.
- Click-to-dismiss notifications. Both the success toast and the error banner are click targets. No menus or extra buttons.
- Zero gameplay impact. Visual-only overlay. Safe to install or uninstall mid-run.
- Self-diagnosing. Any unmapped card or relic name is logged once to godot.log so the data can be fixed.

CUSTOMIZING THE TIERS
After first launch the mod creates a TierLister_tiers folder right next to the DLL, in your StS2 mods/ folder, with seven files inside. defect.json, ironclad.json, silent.json, regent.json, necrobinder.json, colorless.json, and relics.json.

- macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Slay the Spire 2/SlayTheSpire2.app/Contents/MacOS/mods/TierLister_tiers/
- Windows: <Steam>\steamapps\common\Slay the Spire 2\mods\TierLister_tiers\

The shape is intentionally minimal:

{
  "character": "Defect",
  "source": "https://tiermaker.com/...",
  "tiers": {
    "S": ["Echo Form", "Defragment", "..."],
    "A": ["..."],
    "B": ["..."],
    "C": ["..."],
    "D": ["..."]
  }
}

To retier a card or relic, move its name into a different array. To remove an item from your view, delete the line. To add an unranked one, append a name. Save the file, restart the game.

If you ever want to start over from defaults, delete the file and relaunch. The mod will regenerate it from the embedded version.

If your edits produce invalid JSON, the mod tells you about it three ways instead of failing silently:

- A red in-game banner on the main menu listing the broken file and the parser error.
- A .error.txt sidecar file next to the broken JSON with the recovery steps.
- A verbose entry in the game log.

That file falls back to the bundled defaults until the JSON is fixed or deleted.

REQUIREMENTS
- Slay the Spire 2 with native mod loading enabled (v0.99.x or newer).
- That's it. No other mods, frameworks, or runtime libraries are required. Harmony and the tier data are bundled inside the DLL.

SHOUT OUTS
- OpemSpire (https://www.youtube.com/@OpemSpire). Every default card tier ranking in this mod is from his Slay the Spire 2 tier-list videos.
- JapaneseExport on TierMaker. Default relic tier rankings (shop, common, uncommon, rare) are from his community-published tier lists.

- fresh-milkshake, for the Modding-Tutorial repo (https://github.com/fresh-milkshake/Modding-Tutorial) and the inventory of working mods.
- jdr (author of BetterSpire2). The per-card overlay pattern this mod uses is lifted directly from BetterSpire2's NativeHandBadge.
- OceanUwU's slaytabase (https://github.com/OceanUwU/slaytabase) for the structured StS2 card and relic data used to verify name spellings.
- Mega Crit, for building a moddable game and shipping the loader API.
