Coldfire Travel - OdinCamp Sandbox POC

作者:laxusthundergodv1.1.0

What if Odin Sphere but StS2? This mod is my own conceptual take on that. Introduced a hub and campfire outposts => fast track / backtrack between visited campfire nodes, along with spawn Merchant feature and other changes that stemmed from

Main features
  1. Players start on a new campfire hub on each map after the ancient room each act. The hub is an empty campfire room where the vanilla pathing are now connected. It have a fast travel that initially doesn't do anything but can be navigated BACK from other subsequent campfire/restsite the players found
  2. All other campfire nodes become "outposts". Every outposts have persistent two new options :"Fast Travel", and "Trade".
  3. Fast travel allowed player to jump/teleport between the initial campfire hub and any other outposts found during their travels. Think Sites of Graces from ER, basically a safe checkpoint.
  4. The Trade option, meanwhile, spawn an overlay of a virtual merchant room inside the rest site which mimic the vanilla behavior.
  5. Configurable card removals price. Pick from default vanilla option or name a "fair" , fixed, static price starting from zero.
  6. Campfire outposts turned into "Coldfire" room (configurable), which will disable the heal/smith/etc once the player left the campfire outposts and decided to backtrack.
  7. Make the merchant room stateful. Save/Load the cards/relics/ potions/ for each campfire outposts; No re-rolls once a trade had been initiated.
  8. Propose a safety layer regarding the possibility of relics exhaustion by restoring unpurchased relics back into shared pool at the start of boss fight and shuffling the back portion.
  9. Limit the total floor variable to 20 for safety reasons per act (up from 17).So slight exp cap boost per act, while preserving the players recorded run history.
  10. Comes with an exclusive run history patch that allow multiple rows per act instead of becoming out of bounds.
Known issues
Fast Travel option with controller is still not implemented as of v 1.1.0
I'm trying to figure out the best way to proceed without making this too complicated. In the meanwhile grab a mouse besides you if you are playing with a controller.

Installation instructions
Extract the zip into StS2 mods folder. e.g C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Slay the Spire 2\mods

For first time setup, you might want to download a config File (coldfire_config.json) which you could tweak beforehand
Otherwise, it will be generated automatically when the mod was installed/run with default values:
  1.  using vanilla card cost removals,
  2. lock down or turn Campfire->ColdFire for subsequent visits,
  3. and an option to turn merchant music.
This config needs to be placed in appdata directory e.g :
Location on Windows: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\SlayTheSpire2\coldfire_config.json

This data directory is different from the mods directory which are reserved for pck/dll.

Requirements
Players MUST play at least 1 run on each profile. Loss/Victory doesn't matter.
Odincamp mod is recommended for maximum utility.
Baselib is currently not required but might be needed in the future (for sticking config options on those pretty UI)

Shout outs
Huge thanks to the MCP Server mod that allowed a non-programmer to create this mod.

Description (moved to bottom since this gotta be abstract lol) Feel free to skip.
This mod turned StS2 roguelike into a more sandbox-y rogue lite-ish game by borrowing concepts from ARPG games like Odin Sphere and mainly to satisfy my own hypothetical question : "What if Odin Sphere but StS2." Paired with OdinCamp or unlimited variants, it turned the game into an optional optimization-loops adventure-based gameplay, where said loops could be mix and matched accordingly by the players, effectively presenting an artificial, adjustable difficulty slider.

DISCLAIMER
1.This mod is provided as is.  It will break with future game updates.  Compatibility with future patches is not guaranteed, and updates may require lots of time to fix and may not be supported at all. Proceed with your own risk.
I'm not a real programmer. Agentic AI is used for 100 percent of the code generation and assets/images, with occasional edit here and there and lots of debug runs by me.
