Note the relics up top confirming the mode is Daily Challenge and that the Ascension is level 1. After victory, the Epoch unlocks and the next Ascension becomes level 2.

Overview

Just as you could in early access release, you can now enjoy games of Custom and Daily runs without wasting a run with progressing your character stats, the timeline, or ascension level.
Use in tandem with the below mods give Custom Runs all the features of Standard Runs;

What it does

Daily Runs and Custom Runs get all Standard Run features:
  • Unlock Epoches in the timeline
  • Unlock achievements
  • Unlock Ascensions
  • Track win/loss streak
  • Update card stats
  • Update ancient stats
  • Work in multiplayer
  • Remove the disclaimers in the Custom and Daily screens

How it works

  • Uses a Harmony Prefix to change the input to UpdateWithRunDatain ProgressSaveManagerso its serializableRunproperty uses GameMode.Standard
  • Uses a Harmony Postfix to set the GameModeback to what it was before
  • Uses a Harmony Prefix to replace AreAchievementsAndEpochsLockedin GameModeExtensionso it always returns false
  • Uses a Prefix to delete the disclaimer node in both NCustomRunScreenand NDailyRunScreen

Issues

Future work

  • Monitor patch order interactions with other related mods
  • Add explicit Harmony ordering if needed
  • Remove the warning that Daily Runs and Custom Runs do not count for game progression

Build / Notes

  • I followed Alchyr's guide with JellyBeans Rider and used their templates: https://github.com/Alchyr/ModTemplate-StS2/wiki
  • I made a Claude.mdfor working with AI for making Slay the Spire 2 mods
  • I got JellyBean Rider to make the solution from opening the .csprojfile
  • Make sure to edit the .csprojwith the location of your Slay the Spire 2 game and your Megadot install
