Description
BetterRewards changes how you choose rewards at the start of a run. Instead of taking one of the normal Neow rewards, you can sacrifice HP for gold, then spend it in a special shop with unique actions not found in any normal merchant. Heavily inspired by BetterRewards by Skrelpoid for Slay the Spire 1.
Tested and working in multiplayer.

Skrelpoid for the original BetterRewards mod for Slay the Spire 1 the core concept of trading your Neow reward for a special starting shop comes directly from that mod. One of my favorite mods for Sts1.

Installation instructions
- Install ModManagerSettings first (required dependency).
- Download the latest release zip from the Releases page.
- Close Slay the Spire 2.
- In Steam, right-click Slay the Spire 2 → Properties → Installed Files → Browse.
- Create a mods folder in the game directory if it does not exist.
- Extract the zip and drag the BetterRewards folder into mods.
- Confirm BetterRewards.dll and BetterRewards.json are present in mods/BetterRewards.
- Launch the game, accept any prompt to enable mods, and relaunch.
- Go to Settings → General → Mods and enable BetterRewards.
- HP-for-gold sacrifice — after Neow, choose how much HP to give up for starting gold
- Special shop — after sacrificing HP, visit a one-time shop at the start of the run to spend your gold with custom buttons:
- Reroll — spend gold to completely refresh the merchant's stock
- Random Relic — spend gold to roll a relic at configurable rarities (Common / Uncommon / Rare / Ancient)
- Random Item — spend gold for a surprise relic, card, or potion with configurable rarities
- Configurable — tweak costs, sacrifice range, gold rate, and rarity weights from the settings panel (requires ModManagerSettings)
- ModManagerSettings — provides the in-game settings panel. Install it before enabling BetterRewards.
