Description
The Wanderer is a custom playable character for Slay the Spire 2: a samurai-themed warrior poet who carries a heavy curse and a heavier gourd.
Fight using five kenjutsu-inspired sword stances, drink mysterious liquor to shift your cards, and choose whether to specialize in a single stance or master all five. Manage your Dishonor through misogi waterfall meditation, seppuku, or stranger methods? If the Wanderer dies, he does not always stay dead: assume Shinigami form, exhaust your shame, and return to life.
Installation instructions
1. Install BaseLib for Slay the Spire 2 (see Requirements below).
2. Download the latest Wanderer.zip from the Files tab.
3. Extract it into your Slay the Spire 2 mods/ folder so you end up with mods/Wanderer/Wanderer.dll and mods/Wanderer/Wanderer.pck side by side.
4. Launch the game. The Wanderer will appear on the character select screen.
Main features
- A new playable character with a full custom card pool, relics, and potions.
- Five kenjutsu-inspired stances: Chudan, Hasso, Gedan, Jodan, and Waki, each with its own deckbuilding theme.
- Dishonor and Rebirth: when the Wanderer dies, he assumes Shinigami form and his deck is transformed into Ofuda status cards. Exhaust them to return to life.
- Shift and Refill: Shift is a special type of Transform that always results in a Wanderer card. Cards with Refill shift automatically when played and gain a bonus when Refilled.
- Next Turn powers: an extension of the base game’s Next Turn effects with powerful payoffs.
- Localization in English, German, Japanese, Russian, and Simplified Chinese.

A note on art
This mod comes in two art versions.
The standard version uses AI-generated card and character art, selected and edited by me. The simple art version replaces those visuals with my rough programmer art and other non-AI visuals such as kanji on abstract backgrounds.
I know people have very different feelings about AI art, so I wanted to be upfront and give players a real choice. Nothing is hidden here: pick the version you’re comfortable with. The gameplay/content should be the same either way.
