Major Update #2: Beta Rollup, RNG Rework & Steam Workshop

The second major main-branch update rolls four beta patches into live. Aeonglass, the Bestiary, the v0.105-v0.107 enemy and card balance era, Steam Workshop support, and a major RNG rework are now on the main branch. This is also a large stability pass with save-file resilience, controller, Linux, multiplayer, translation, UI, art, audio and performance fixes.

Major Systems

  • Beta rollup — four beta patches are now live on the main branch, including Aeonglass, the Bestiary, enemy balance and character card changes
  • RNG rework — unrelated run systems now use a safer seeding approach to avoid correlated outcomes such as predictable Neow’s Bones curse patterns
  • Steam Workshop support — official mod subscription, update and discovery flow is now available from Steam
  • Bestiary — the in-game enemy compendium is now available on the main branch

  • Aeonglass — replaces Doormaker on main; Ebb is a single-hit attack that grants Block and no longer applies the Ebb debuffAeonglass

Quality of Life, UI & Presentation

  • Gremlin Merc fight — if no gold is stolen but Fat Gremlin escapes, you now receive 50% of the normal gold reward
  • Added an Ascension first-time tutorial popup and preferred Ascension for the random character option
  • Hand, leaderboard, run history, controller, Ancient dialogue and Bestiary interactions received UI/UX cleanup
  • Art and audio pass — new card art, character animations, enemy animations, phobia-mode art, VFX and music / SFX additions

Stability & Bug Fixes

  • Save operations are now more fault-tolerant, reducing lost or corrupted save files after crashes, blue screens or power loss
  • Steam Cloud settings and duplicate run-history sync issues fixed; Steam disconnects during room transitions no longer cause the same black-screen softlock
  • General crash fixes cover dying creatures, startup, rest-site upgrades, room entry, controller targeting, Linux UI removal and ICU-library failures
  • Aeonglass and Wither fixes from beta are now live: Wither cannot be upgraded and no longer sticks around with RetainAeonglass
  • Multiplayer fixes address potion crashes, event state divergence, wrong event cards, Steam BadCert messaging and multiple reward / relic sync issues

Modding, Localization & Performance

  • Modding — Workshop support is the headline addition, and the base game no longer deletes progress from removed or errored mods
  • Localization — more translated text and translation fixes across many languages
  • Performance — reduced stutter when combat effects appear for the first time in a run
