Description
Block Mod gives every Slay the Spire 2 character a permanent, innate Barricade. Your block is never wiped at the start of your turn — whatever you didn't spend defending stays on you and stacks with whatever you gain next turn. Enemies are unaffected; they still lose their block normally between turns, so combat balance only shifts in your favor.
It's a tiny standalone mod (under 10 KB) that hooks one method in the base game with Harmony. No new cards, relics, or characters are added — the change applies automatically to every run, every character, on the modern game version (tested on v0.103.2).

Installation instructions
  1. Download the latest BlockMod-X.Y.Z.zip from the Files tab.
  2. Locate your Slay the Spire 2 install folder:
    • Windows:  <Steam>\steamapps\common\Slay the Spire 2\Mods\
    • macOS:  ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Slay the Spire 2/SlayTheSpire2.app/Contents/MacOS/Mods/
    • Linux:  ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Slay the Spire 2/Mods/
  • Extract the zip. You should get a folder named  BlockMod containing exactly three files:  BlockMod.dll,  BlockMod.json, and  BlockMod.pck.
  • Drop that  BlockMod folder into the game's  Mods directory.
  • Launch the game from Steam. Block Mod should appear in the in-game mod list and load automatically.
  • To confirm it loaded, open the game's log file and search for "BlockMod":
    • Windows:  %APPDATA%\SlayTheSpire2\logs\godot.log
    • macOS:  ~/Library/Application Support/SlayTheSpire2/logs/godot.log
You should see a line that reads:
loaded - player block now persists between turns. To uninstall, delete the
    BlockMod folder from
    Mods.

    Main features
    • Block carries over between your turns. Stop spending all your defense on a turn you wouldn't have used it.
    • Works for every character — not tied to Ironclad, the Watcher, custom character mods, or any specific class.
    • Player-only by design. Monsters still lose block normally, so the mod doesn't trivialize defensive enemies or shielded bosses.
    • Stacks naturally with the existing Barricade card and similar effects (no double-skip weirdness — when block is already preserved, Barricade just no-ops).
    • Save-safe. The mod keeps no per-run state of its own; you can disable it at any time without corrupting saves.
    • Tiny footprint and zero dependencies (uses Harmony, which already ships with the game).

    Requirements
    • Slay the Spire 2, modded build (tested on v0.103.2). The game must be a version that supports the standard   mod loader (any current Steam build qualifies).
    • No additional mods or libraries required. Harmony ( 0Harmony.dll) is bundled with the game itself, so there is nothing extra to install.
    • Compatible with character mods (Ryoshu, The Watcher, The Reaper, etc.) and most QoL mods. Block Mod only patches one base-game method, so conflicts are unlikely.

    Shout outs
    • MegaCrit, for making the only deckbuilder I lose sleep over.
    • doctornoodlearms on r/slaythespire for the original STS2 Early Access Mod Guide that documents the modding entry point.
    • jiegec for the STS2FirstMod example project — used as the project skeleton.
    • Alchyr for the ModTemplate-StS2 reference template.
    • pardeike for Harmony, which makes a one-method mod like this possible in about 10 lines of C#.
    • The StS2 Nexus modding community for keeping the early-access modding scene alive.
