What this does

Beta branch v0.105.x introduced a new Ancient-rarity relic called Silken Tress (한국어: 비단 머리칼). When picked, it enchants every card in your next card reward with Glam (호화). The relic class only exists in the beta sts2.dll, so stable-branch players can't encounter it.

This is a small taster mod — it re-implements the relic against the public modding API and adds it to Neow's positive-option pool so you can try the beta relic without switching Steam branches. That's it. No new content, no balance changes, no extra systems — just one beta relic, surfaced at its natural Neow probability.

Features

  • Natural Neow appearance — adds Silken Tress to Neow's PositiveOptions candidate pool. Game shuffles and picks 2 of the now-15 candidates as usual, so it appears at the same probability as in beta (~2/15).
  • Vanilla Glam payload — the Glam enchantment already exists in stable, so the relic uses the real vanilla effect. No re-implementation, no drift from the beta behavior.
  • Beta-branch auto-skip — if you're already on beta, the mod detects vanilla SilkenTress via reflection and skips all Harmony patches automatically. No duplicate option, no conflict. Safe to leave installed when toggling Steam branches.
  • Beta-fallback icon — the relic's Neow option art and the owned-relic detail panel display correctly, using the same beta-fallback path chain the game already supports.
  • Localization — Korean and English strings injected via a Harmony postfix on LocManager.SetLanguage. Other languages fall back to English.

Installation

  1. Download the latest release zip.
  2. Extract the Sts2SilkenTressBackport folder into <Slay the Spire 2 install>/mods/.
  3. Launch the game on the stable branch. New run → Neow → eventually rolls the "Take the Silken Tress" option.

⚠ Version-bound — read this first

This mod is only meaningful on the current STS2 stable build. It exists purely as a preview/taster while Silken Tress is locked to the beta branch. As soon as MegaCrit lands the relic on stable, this mod is obsolete and you should uninstall it — the beta-branch auto-skip will keep it inert if you forget, but there's no reason to keep it around.

Likewise, future stable patches may change the modding API or the Neow option-pool shape. If that happens this version will likely break and a rebuild against the new API will be needed. This v0.1.0 release is validated only against the stable build live at the time of upload.

Limitations

  • Small tray icon is empty. Beta v0.105.x itself doesn't ship a silken_tress.tres atlas entry yet, so the small thumbnail in the owned-relic tray is blank on both stable (via this mod) and beta. The big BigIcon (Neow art, detail panel) displays normally. Resolves automatically when MegaCrit's official atlas update lands.
  • Description text is provisional. Beta's localization/{lang}/relics.json doesn't contain SILKEN_TRESS.* keys yet, so this mod ships its own wording following vanilla GLITTER's pattern. The official text may differ when it ships.

Asset disclaimer

The bundled .pck contains silken_tress.ctex / .png extracted from the beta SlayTheSpire2.pck. The code is original work against MegaCrit's public modding API, but the textures are MegaCrit's IP — included only as a backport bridge for stable users until the beta lands officially. open an issue on GitHub.
