Snakebite Card Guide: Why Jorbs Defended the F-Tier Meme
The Reddit case for Snakebite as F-tier, Jorbs’ counter-argument, and when Snakebite is genuinely strong over Deadly Poison in real Silent decks.
The Reddit case against it
On paper Snakebite costs 1 more energy than Deadly Poison while applying a similar amount of Poison. The Reddit-meme verdict was simple: Deadly Poison is strictly better, Snakebite belongs in F-tier, and any defense was contrarian noise.
The argument is not wrong in isolation. If you only judge the card by raw Poison-per-energy, Deadly Poison wins.
Jorbs’ counter-argument
Jorbs’ point is that Poison-per-energy is the wrong axis at high Ascension. The right axis is "how reliably does the card kill the target before it kills you." Snakebite scales with Strength, can be played as a finisher when Poison alone cannot close, and works inside a deck that already has scaling and tempo.
In practice, a Silent deck with Strength sources, Sly cycle, or Envenom does not need more efficient ramp Poison — it needs a closer. That is where Snakebite plays better than its meme reputation.

When to actually pick Snakebite
Take Snakebite when you already have at least one Strength source (Heel Hook upgrades, Pommel Strike with Strength relics, or any Power gain), or when your deck is Sly-heavy and you specifically want a closer that does not depend on cycling further.
Skip Snakebite when your deck is pure ramp Poison with no Strength and no closer problem — Deadly Poison really is better there.
