StS2 Orb Layout
by Inggom0111v1.0
Customize Defect orb-slot positions along a free-form curve. Slots auto-distribute along the line you draw.

Description
Reshape the Defect's orb-slot layout into any free-form curve. Hold Ctrl in combat, drag the waypoint markers or click on the curve itself to
add new control points, and your orbs redistribute along the line you draw.
한국어 설명은 github 참고하세요 — Korean version below
This mod patches NOrbManager.TweenLayout so the orb slot positions follow a Catmull-Rom spline through any waypoints you place. The
curve is parameterized by arc length, so when you channel a new orb or evoke one mid-combat, the slots redistribute evenly along the same shape — no
more snapping back to the default fan.
The first time you hold Ctrl in combat, the mod captures your current orb positions as the initial waypoint set — one per slot — so you have grabbable
control points immediately.
You should end up with these two files:
<sts2>/mods/Sts2OrbLayout/Sts2OrbLayout.dll
<sts2>/mods/Sts2OrbLayout/Sts2OrbLayout.json
The curve is saved to:
%APPDATA%/Godot/app_userdata/Slay the Spire 2/Sts2OrbLayout/orb_curve.json Delete the file to fall back to the default fan layout. The mod will recapture from current orb positions next time you hold Ctrl.

What it does
This mod patches NOrbManager.TweenLayout so the orb slot positions follow a Catmull-Rom spline through any waypoints you place. The
curve is parameterized by arc length, so when you channel a new orb or evoke one mid-combat, the slots redistribute evenly along the same shape — no
more snapping back to the default fan.
Features
- Free-form Catmull-Rom curve — straight, gentle arc, S-curve, anything between
- Click-on-curve to add waypoints — the curve itself is the click target; new control points spawn exactly where you click
- Auto-distribute by arc length — slots stay evenly spaced along your curve regardless of orb count
- Works mid-combat — channel/evoke/skill effects all keep slots on the curve
- Persists across game restarts — your curve is saved as JSON in the user data folder
- Multiplayer-safe — manifest declares affects_gameplay: false; only the local Defect player is touched
Controls (in combat)
- Hold Ctrl — show the curve, waypoint markers (yellow = endpoint, orange = mid), and slot numbers
- Ctrl + LMB on a marker — drag the waypoint
- Ctrl + LMB on the curve (within ~18 px) — add a new waypoint at that spot and start dragging it
- Ctrl + Shift + LMB anywhere — force-add a waypoint at the click position (for control points off the existing curve)
- Ctrl + RMB on a marker — remove the waypoint (endpoints are protected; minimum 2)
The first time you hold Ctrl in combat, the mod captures your current orb positions as the initial waypoint set — one per slot — so you have grabbable
control points immediately.
Installation
- Download Sts2OrbLayout-vX.Y.Z.zip from the Files tab.
- Extract the Sts2OrbLayout/ folder into <Slay the Spire 2 install>/mods/.
- Launch the game.
You should end up with these two files:
<sts2>/mods/Sts2OrbLayout/Sts2OrbLayout.dll
<sts2>/mods/Sts2OrbLayout/Sts2OrbLayout.json
Reset / data location
The curve is saved to:
%APPDATA%/Godot/app_userdata/Slay the Spire 2/Sts2OrbLayout/orb_curve.json Delete the file to fall back to the default fan layout. The mod will recapture from current orb positions next time you hold Ctrl.
Notes & limits
- Catmull-Rom is uniform-parameterized. With many tightly clustered waypoints the curve can wobble — add fewer, more evenly spaced points for a smoother result.
- Endpoints (waypoint 0 and N-1) cannot be removed; you always need at least 2 to define a curve.
- The mod looks for the local player's NOrbManager only. The remote player's orb area is ignored.
