Boss Guide: How to Prepare for Every Act Instead of High-Rolling One Fight
A boss-focused checklist that emphasizes deck readiness, potion timing, and pathing decisions before the fight even starts.
Boss fights are won on the map screen first
The most useful recent boss coverage starts before the boss room itself. If your deck cannot end a fight in a reasonable number of turns, cannot block one explosive enemy cycle, or arrives with dead potions, the boss is just where the run finally collapses.
That is why boss preparation is less about memorizing one script and more about checking whether your deck is actually ready.
Universal boss checklist
Before a boss, ask three questions: can my deck output enough damage within eight to ten turns, can it survive one extreme turn, and is my draw quality high enough to reach the right answers on time?
If the answer to any of those is no, your last few nodes should be spent fixing that weakness instead of greedily adding more speculative power.
- Use potions if they meaningfully improve the current boss fight.
- Thin dead cards before the boss whenever the shop allows it.
- Elite relics are often worth the risk if they solve the fight you are about to face.
Do not overfit one encounter
A common trap is overfitting the deck to one fear and ruining your consistency everywhere else. The best boss prep still preserves a coherent deck plan.
Beat the act by strengthening your core engine, then patch the specific weakness with one or two cards, relics, or potions.
